An Ecumenical Movement

Korsvei is a volunteer-based community built around summer festivals held every other year in Seljord, Norway. The community is not a congregation or a denomination, but an independent foundation led by a board and administered by a small staff. Korsvei is also an ecumenical movement, born of a longing to live as disciples of Jesus in the midst of our times. In an existence where powerful forces divide and tear things apart, we seek wholeness and holiness.

The four guides

What does it mean to follow Jesus Christ in our time?

This question has accompanied the Korsvei movement since the first interdenominational summer festival in 1985. The four «guides» are an expression of what we have found.

Korsvei wants to

  • inspire and challenge people to seek intimate fellowship with Jesus Christ and to unite with Him in the struggle for life in our world
  • engage in theological work to interpret the Christian faith for our times
  • create spaces that inspire a life of discipleship
  • create creative and prophetic signs of life—concrete actions that highlight what Jesus’ radical call entails today
